The Women Of SHEROES
“I remember this clearly because it was the very first day I realized that I was born a woman before being a human. It was when my mother hit me for opening the door to our telephone repairing man. Her reasoning was that the man could've raped. Yes, it was the very first time I learnt about rape and I was scared to death for a very long time. After that the society didn't let me forget that I'm a woman. By telling me how to walk, how to dress or how to talk, this unbearable amount of checks and balances always made me a rebel and into becoming this patriarchy shaming person. I worked extensively in areas of women justice, female foeticide, rape and acid attack cases along with working towards digitally empowering women. While working in Delhi I realized that working towards deconstructing the patriarchal concepts couldn't come from policing but from reformation of the society, so I went back home. To the north which is brewing of revolution at this point and started my deconstruction of patriarchy.”
