Well, most of us have our own differing opinions on movies of likes Dangal, Mary Kom and Chak De India, yet we all might have realized of how women have gone far from the times they were majorly held back. It is to be boldly specified that women have done brilliantly well with harder struggles in fighting the stereotypes.

We all do feel inspired about our country being represented victorious globally by the underdogs.  But it’s an even more pleasant feeling to absorb that there are still many such beautiful fruits cropping up in different pockets of India.

Talking about our girl Icon Akshara, a 13-year old athlete, who has already represented UP in North Zone athletics. She stood third even when she had no financial support.

Being the only child of the family, Akshara easily won the support of her parents to pursue her passion for sports. In a community of Uttar Pradesh where girls are told to hold themselves back due to many rules, Akshara and her parents managed to keep their voice and deed stern.

Well aware of the fact that immense hard work and perseverance is needed to reach at the top in sports, they had not realized that fighting the odds against the urge to work hard took the struggle to next level. Akshara fought all the backlashes from judgments to lack of financial aid with ample patience and determination.

“I get up early in the morning daily to practice well in advance. Yes, there was a lot of backlash from my relatives and community members but fighting them only made me follow my dreams more. I thank my parents for the support and shield they provided. I know women are not much promoted to showcase their strength and talent in an area where there are only men. I have been stopped majorly because of it but since there are girls who have started to turn tables, I would love to do the same”.

This 100 meters sprinter, dreams to make it big in the field of sports and desires to see female athletes doing great as well. She has taken an extra badge of bravery by motivating other girls to follow their paths and invest into sports. Isn’t this amazing to learn that just being 13 does not stop her from making stunning changes in a very stubborn locality? For I was literally blown away when I collected that she has administered many sports competitions herself to spread the encouragement in this field.
