Meet the SHEROES - Prachi Garg

Prachi Garg is a 30 year old writer, traveler, and an entrepreneur. She started www.ghoomophiro.com, an enterprise where the team organizes corporate tours based on the customers’ individual requirements, budgets. She then provides them a bouquet of options. This initiative was taken up by her during college days.

She also kick started a journal “Managing Minds”, that caters to the need of Tier II & Tier III  MBA aspirants. She has been associated with eetindia group, DDNews and has been freelancing for HT Horizons for quite some-time. She likes travelling, theatre, and writing.

Tell us more about yourself

I am a true blue Mirandian. I completed my graduation in computer science, then worked for an MNC for 3 years, post that I did my MBA from the Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai). I’m an avid traveller, foodie and theatre artist. I love to write, work for NGO's and read.

What prompted you to start Ghoomophiro?

My company caters to the requirements of corporates only. I myself am an avid traveler and like to explore different places. During one of my trips to Pachmarhi, I thought, why not start my own venture that caters to the need of corporates? It is tough for corporates to plan team events and lunches and that’s where Ghoomophiro bridges the gap. We plan everything, short 2 hour events, lunches to even week long trips for corporates.

How are corporate outings/events important for team building?

They are important to keep the teams motivated. It gives the team members a platform to interact in an informal forum and bond. A well planned trip can enhance the feeling of team spirit.

As an entrepreneur, do you ever take time off? What do you do in that time?

Yes, I do take a lot of “me time”. I do write, go for family vacations (without my phones), read and play badminton.

What are the initial challenges that you faced while starting-up? How did you overcome those?

Quality of service.  To overcome this challenge, we ensure we collaborate with best of industry folks and many of them are personally visited by me.

How do you see Ghoomophiro growing in future?

We want to expand it to schools and to solo women travellers.
