Voice Of SHEROES - How Reading This Book Changed My Relationship With My Mother Forever
Currently I am reading the book called “She Walks She Leads”, written by Indian author Gunjan Jain. I was truly inspired by the stories of twenty-four supreme ladies. The common thing that these women did, was they started from the bottom, achieved what others couldn’t in their field. They focused on motivating their partners to do better. All the women that were featured became role models for their children even though they were working full time, as well as pursuing philanthropic efforts to help their communities and nation.
As I was reading the book, I looked at my ageing mother who had served dinner to everybody in our house before even eating herself. And it made me think that we would struggle to do simple things, if she were not around. She takes everything on her shoulders and she walks and leads in the truest sense. Whether we are overjoyed or depressed, want to share something stupid or relevant, or we have nothing to say and we need her lap to put our head on – She is always there. She carries off every role – mother, sister, daughter in law, daughter, aunt, friend, colleague, boss beautifully.
Few lines for every mother in this world..
She was born, but nobody wanted her
Yet she was destined to live and lead
When she grew she was obliged by the vicious circle of life
Yet she lived and lead
When she was married she was obliged to live for others
Yet she lived and lead
When she became mother, she was nowhere herself.
Yet she lived and lead
When she became old, nobody really gave her credit
Yet she lived and conquered
