BJP Parl Party Meets To Pick UP CM, Rumours Swirl Around Rajnath

A meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentary party was held in Delhi, to decide the party’s pick for Chief Minister in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh is rumoured to be one of the leading candidates in the CM race. However, Singh has dismissed all rumours.

After the meeting Anant Kumar of BJP said:

BJP’s Uttar Pradesh unit president Keshav Prasad Maurya met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, amid heightened speculation over the new Chief Minister of UP, where the BJP won a historic mandate in the recently held Assembly polls.

Maurya’s name is also doing the rounds for the top job.
