Tirthan Valley
Tirthan Valley is a hidden treasure that only a handful of people know about. It is a complete off-beat path when it comes to travelling. What if we said that there is a place with hanging bridges, pristine pine and oak forests, crystal clear waterfalls and apple orchids and that too not so far from the regular crowds? You must be thinking that such a place exists only in Kashmir. But, it is none other than the Tirthan Valley. It is located at 50km south from Kullu. It is situated at an altitude of 3500 feet. It got the name from a river named Tirthan which is a tributary of the Beas River in Himachal Pradesh. It is a UNESCO site that can surely appeal to all the nature lovers.
It is a perfect place for all the trekkers, adventure enthusiasts, bird watchers and for those who just want to cut off from the daily hustle and bustle of the city. Tirthan Valley is also well-known for fishing where you can find brown and rainbow trouts in abundance. The best time to visit Tirthan Valley is from March to October.
