You Have A Superpower – It Is Called Faith

Each one of us is fighting a battle the person next to us could have absolutely no idea about. Just like the person next to us.

Each one of us is trying very hard to be some place else, in order to move away from, or move on from where we were yesterday – because maybe it wasn’t such a good place to be in.

But through all of this and more, we are still magically rooted. How? Because while we may not have the super powers to climb walls or fly, each one of us is blessed with a super power called faith. And when the going gets tough, it is the only thing that anchors us. Because we hope, we wait, and somehow, somewhere we find faith to believe that tomorrow things will be better. We don’t know how, rather, we don’t know yet, but what we know is maybe tomorrow we will know how. I believe that it is the most magical thing that we, as human beings possess.

While to some of us this belief and faith comes naturally, it is harder for some of us. Circumstances might have taught us to be wary of being too hopeful, of having too much faith. But I do not know how one can ever have enough of faith. It is like all magical things in the world – one can’t ever have enough. It is only when you practice having faith and being full of hope even in the worst of circumstances that you start to live in a constant state of gratitude. Gratitude is a state of being. And once you are there, everything starts working like clockwork and the magic unfolds – taking you closer to where you want to be, every day.

But first, you need to be ready to face the magic you've been waiting for, praying for. Because when it happens the light is going to be so bright, as the veil of darkness finally lifts. Keep telling yourself "any moment now", so that your eyes are prepared to take in all the light that floods your soul and all of you, and your heart is filled to the brim with gratitude. And then just keep saying how grateful you are that everything you wished for has happened.

But first, you must be ready to know it's magic when you finally see it.

One line from Tormet by Lauren Kate that beautifully sums this up is, “Sometimes beautiful things come into our lives out of nowhere. We can't always understand them, but we have to trust in them. I know you want to question everything, but sometimes it pays to just have a little faith.”

Maybe you do not know how the miracle is going to happen, but if you knew, it wouldn’t be a miracle. That is the magic about them, they happen when you least expect them, but somewhere in the crevices of your soul you have been wishing upon a star every day, because you have faith.
