The auction of the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League saw some surprises and some expected bids however, it was Ben Stokes who stole the limelight on Monday.

Coming in to his inaugural IPL auction at a base price of Rs 2 crore, the England all-rounder was bought by the Rising Pune Supergiants for a whopping Rs 14.50 crore – the most expensive foreign player in IPL history.

Indian pacer Ishant Sharma remained the only player in the Rs 2 crore base price club who was not picked up by any franchise.
