Super Women At ISRO
She steals the thunder by launching satellites. Sky is not the limit but the reason why she goes to office. Meet the Super women at ISRO !
Ritu Kadhiral
Waxing and waning of moon got her interested to work at a Space Station. She worked as a Deputy Operations Director to Mangalyan , the Mars Orbiter Mission. "My job was to conceptualize and ensure the execution of the craft's onward autonomy system," she said. "That's basically the brain of the satellite, a software system coded in well enough to function on its own, determine what and when to detach, anything that needs to be infracted. If there's malfunction, the system needs to be designed well enough to correct and recover on its own in outer space."
Moumita Dutta
She read about Chandrayan on newspaper when it was launched. And then she created history as the the project manager for payloads for Mangalyan! Now she lives her dream as a Lead to “Make in India” initiative in optical science.
Nandini Harinath
StarTrek inspired her and she became the Deputy Director at ISRO. She shattered every debate on discrimination saying, “24% women workers in technical areas and women managers and project directors amounted to 20%. Giving the example of Noble Laureate Marie Curie's entry into science,” Harinath says, "Past history shows women in science straddled for recognition. It is the perception that girls are weak at maths and computing. Without changing such a mindset we cannot progress. "
