Singaporean Blogger Xiaxue's Words Cut Like Knife
If you get easily offended, then this post is not for you!
If you thought AIB Roast was tasteless and ‘violent,’ then just stop reading this now!
Cheng Yan Yan Wendy popularly known as Xiaxue, the famous Singaporean blogger, who laces her posts with profanity and writes in provocative style has captured our attention.
Her blog approximately registers 40,000 readers daily. She has won the prestigious blog awards and landed many sponsorship deals due to her unabashed take on life, fashion and local issues.
Not one to shy away from calling a spade, a spade. Some of her posts have sparked controversies. She went under the knife to ‘fix’ her ‘bulbous’ nose. That she openly admits being of plastic on her turf, which she lovingly calls her ‘homeground,’ the Internet.
Well, she is a celebrity blogger and earned her readers through her unapologetic blogging skills. Her caustic post on Maggie Gyllenhaal giving her a facelift, will surely leave you red-faced. And, put you in a tizzy, questioning on how such a mean-spirited woman has managed to gather this much fan-following.
To begin with, her posts are downright offensive. You don’t get the normal sugar-coated views here.
Check out her I Photoshop A Hater post. It is savage. No room for sugary presentation. If it’s shitty, she won’t refrain from calling you a pile of it.
Few excerpts from her different posts giving a peek into her ruthless writing.
“But I won't punch people just because they are rude to me. I won't do that because I know I won't win in a fight, what with multiple plastic surgery and languid limbs.” (I Photoshop A Hater)
Xiaxue stands tall at 150 cm (slightly less actually) and no she’s not a midget, by her own admission. She is open about the number of times she’s gone under scalpel to get those ‘presentable looks.’ Her openness gives us a lesson on how not to shy away from accepting facts about yourself. People find it confusing if you own your awkwardness. Out their in front of the whole world.
P.S. NO sugar coating here. Plastic surgery is absolutely a relative decision. You are okay with your “ugliness” then you shouldn’t give a damn!
“Sure, he is entitled to his opinion. Well, so am I, and Mr Playground Bully, I am about to give you mine...There is indeed something called Photoshop, and I use it all the time. In fact, I'm really really good at it!!!”
Can she get any more savage than this. To give an understanding of her social media presence. Here are her clicks.
Seriously who looks like this in real life? I mean you have to be a Kylie Jenner to keep changing your looks every other day. People that is photoshop. No one can look this dreamy and straight out of heaven. If it looks natural to you then either you’re stoned or unaware of technological leaps taken in the past few years.
P.S. BTW this also means that your fav actresses gyrating their diamond-like-glow emanating from their skin, also have been photoshopped. C’mon! Not everyone is Kate Winslet neither they have to be one.
“I know if I were skinnier I'd look better, but exercise sucks and I love my food and even with the humongous amount I eat I still am not overweight, so fuck it, I'd live with being a little chubby.” (How I Lost Weight)
Aren’t we all like this. May be at some point in your life, haven’t you thought of eating everything, not moving a muscle and still have a fab body. There are times when not following the rules, might seem like the perfect way to go. But, quite often we are discouraged.
We are inspired to become a better version of ourselves.
Xiaxue’s words might look reckless and immature at the first glance. But you can’t expect everyone to be your mommy and preach a good life for you.
For good or for bad, Xiaxue has nailed it with her choice of topics and extremely provocative writing. May be not everyone wants to listen to the little goody two shoes. After all we are blessed with a mind of our own.
Whatever may be the case, this pocket sized fashionista is brutally honest and is appreciated (loathed too) for her blogs. May be the times are changing. Maybe we can handle a foul-mouthed and--my personal favourite-- “opinionated” women, after all.
