The kids’ apparel and accessories market didn’t excite them, so this trio turned mumpreneur to create all that they wanted for their children

 What we do now: Our venture, Li’ll Pumpkins, offers parents a wide range of apparels and accessories for children. We offer customised Indian and Western clothing for boys and girls, and also have a complete range of accessories like bags, table mats, book covers, passport covers, aprons, hair clip hangers, belt hangers, hair accessories, customised towels, and many more. Li’ll Pumpkins specializes in birthday dresses and theme dresses like garden fairy dress, Hello Kitty and Mickey Mouse outfits. We do return gifts and birthday gifts.

How we got together: Our children go to the same school and are in the same class, so the mother-and-child program in the toddlers’ class helped us know each other.

The start-up saga: We, as mothers, always found a gap in exclusive party wear dresses and theme outfits for kids’ birthdays. We also kept looking for options for our kids – be it customised and personalised accessories or other useful stuff. The gap gave us the idea to start our own work so that we could make what all we always wanted for our kids.

The challenges we faced: To find and handle labour to get our stuff made. That was a really big challenge but that’s in place now.

Where we want to be in 2015: To sum it up, we want to make it big in the kids’ apparel and accessories’ industry.
