What got you started?

Entrepreneurship has always been an element of my personality. After I graduated in BMM from Jai Hind College and pursued a course in Canada, I came back and took up a job in a PR company. However, it never seemed perfect and with every passing day I wanted to do begin my own venture. In this cluttered world, I wanted to do something unique that was untouched. After a long wait, the idea finally struck my mind and I immediately shared it with a couple of friends.

One day while I was in the process of thinking to myself, I was counting the number of magazines that were available for me to read. Obviously, I immediately listed almost 50 names, but when I thought about the same aspect for the visually impaired, I was unable to name even one. This somehow made me uncomfortable and I began researching about magazines for the community.  Three months into my research, I decided to quit my job and commit myself to the venture.

Life after White Print

White Print is a baby, that turns 10 months old this February. A truly special baby that practically changed my life. At 24 I believe I could have found myself a decently paying job, good enough to pay my bills but certainly none of them would have been able to give me happiness, satisfaction and a good night's sleep that this venture has given me. The happy phone calls, emails, messages, letters and postcards sent by subscribers from different parts of the country keep me going. Challenges come our way each day, and we are still struggling to convince companies to advertise with us. Nonetheless we are positive about its success.

A quote that inspires you

Something I read in Sheryl Sandberg's Lean In stayed with me. "Do not wait for power to be offered. Like that tiara, it might never materialize. And anyway, who wears a tiara on a jungle gym".
