Preeta Sukhtankar started her own online shopping label – Label Corp – the only label that caters editorially for fashion trends. She tell us her start-up story –

How did the idea of Label Corp come about?
The aim was to create an online shopping label that catered to women who needed inspiration for everyday and occasion based dressing.  No other online private label caters editorially to fashion trends. We have basically created an Edit for dressing.
 
What are the top 2 things to keep in mind when starting out as an entrepreneur?
Having the right team is important!  Our team is a women oriented team.

What are the biggest challenges faced in this industry and how do you overcome them?
The biggest challenge is to break the clutter in the online space and maximize visibility and sale-ability.

How is your venture different from other e-retail stores?
We are specifically an Online Private label. We have a tastemaker backed model. We feel we stand out as we create editorial content, trends and collections at affordable prices. Our Tastemakers who are Malaika , Bipasha and Sussanne are like personal stylists who actually break the trends down for the Indian audiences. Our target market is urban independent, new home makers and stylish thinkers.

What words of advice would you give aspiring women entrepreneurs out there?

Don’t give Up

There are no shortcuts

Time is a precious commodity
