Latika Wadhwa Drives Social Change Courtesy Her Venture @MaStyle Care
Latika Wadhwa, 27 years, is a social entrepreneur who loves to travel, meet people from different backgrounds and loves reading. Writing articles and conducting campaigns for social good is what drives her at work. She started as an individual and at first it was just an idea in her head, where she wanted to make a difference.
It came to her one day, when she saw little kids walking barefoot on the pavement next to her home. She wanted to do more and impact their lives somehow. In that moment, she decided to arrange a Christmas party for those kids sponsored by Domino's.
Latika Says, “The kind of issues prevalent around me in the everyday life motivates me to speak out, use my voice and at the same time design solutions for issues so that it can be solved in a very easy manner.”
Since that day in these 3 years, she has developed a community for mothers and NGOs. Through their campaigns they connect Changemakers with resources and reach out to the part of the society who need it the most.
MaStyle Care, is a not for profit organization that carries out both offline, online and awareness campaigns on various social issues pertaining to youth, women, underprivileged children, old age, health, environment, blind etc. Through the media portal www.mastylecare.org for social initiatives they bring out stories of Changemakers. With that, Mompreneur Circle is an Initiative by MaStyle Care ; a community for mothers and married women who are looking to start the second innings of their professional lives either by rejoining the workforce or start something of their own through a proper balance between work and family. They conduct online and offline events to boost up the confidence and spirit of these mothers.
Every week they conduct a Facebook chat discussion amongst the community members for various topics chosen by them and try to bring an industry expert to solve their queries. In the past they have also conducted offline events by bringing experts like Sairee Chahal, Founder SHEROES, and Dr Preeti Seth and others.
In the course of 3 years, they have conducted various online and offline campaigns. Some of their successful events are like; Chalk Walk Against Women Violence, Colorothon Delhi, Gift a Garden to Autistic Kids, Pop The Balloon, Birthday Away to 100 orphan girls, Elderly Birthday Party, Say No to Crackers on Diwali etc.
Through the campaign Kisse Changemakers Ke they were able to cover more than 1000 stories of Changemakers across the country, in order to help them with volunteers, resources as well as in outreaching and networking with the resources. With the help of the campaign various social Changemakers in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, Coimbatore connected with each other and launched social initiatives that benefited the impoverished people of the society.
Till now they have impacted more than 40,000 people’s lives across the country.
As an entrepreneur every day of your life is challenging and full of struggles. But what is interesting is that when one is passionate about something, all the struggles act as a driving force.
During the initial days, MaStyle Care had mixed reviews. Some people were forthcoming and helped in arranging clothes and eatables for the underprivileged, while some were very arrogant.
Latika’s family was super supportive and helped her all the time in her venture.
Latika advises, “Your future depends on your present. So make your present moment the best and the future will automatically be the best. That one thing that I always say is that it is within you, that the mantra for a successful career. The only thing required is to understand that power within you. Just like how women as mothers give birth to a child, similarly we as women have the power to give birth to new creations in the startup world. This will work to help the generations to come. Remember, no matter how hard the journey is, no matter if you are alone you on this path, never try to stop yourself from taking one step forward towards your journey and the whole universe will walk along with you.”
