Indian Working Women Continue to be Harassed
17% Report Sexual Harassment at Workplace
A recent survey shows that as many as 17 per cent of working women in India have experienced sexual harassment at their workplace. Conducted by Oxfam India and the Social and Rural Research Institute, the survey found that 17 per cent of working women feel that they have experienced acts of sexual harassment at workplace, indicating a high incidence of sexual harassment among working women from the organised and unorganised sectors. Majority of women reported incidents that were non-physical.
