What are the habits of successful and effective people? What sets them apart from the others? Let’s find out some of the most common habits among powerful women around the world.

Rising Early

Anna Wintour, Vogue editor-in-chief, starts each day at 5:45 a.m. with an hour-long tennis match. Marissa Mayer, current President and CEO of Yahoo has been quoted saying ‘I don’t need much sleep’

“Eat a live frog first thing in the morning, and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day” Mark Twain. This quote by Twain translates to – “Do your biggest tasks first.” When you start with a big item (a project/frog), the rest of your day looks pretty great by comparison.

Most successful women from around the world believe in early mornings.

Lists Always Help

A number of women believe in the concept of lists. Once a list is made, it’s easier to target tasks as per priority. Tick off what you accomplish one at a time and you’ll feel a sense of achievement as you slowly move through the list!

Be a Leader

One can only get so far by pulling others down. Several women in power and those who are admired the world over (Read Michelle Obama) try to adopt good leadership qualities.

If the world is looking at you, you have to show them how to lead, by leading effectively.

Says Sheryl Sandberg, CEO of popular social media platform – Facebook, “Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts in your absence.”

Time Out

It is always important to take time out for yourself.

Paula Froelich, editor in chief of Yahoo Travel once explained this - She told everyone to make rules for themselves to keep sane (and healthy), like not sleeping with your phone, not checking social media or email until 45 minutes after you’ve woken up, and prioritizing sleep.

This is a very important aspect especially for a working woman or one in power.
