#GoodNews: Hindus Restore Mosque Abandoned Since Babri Demolition
A 100-year-old mosque in a Hindu-dominated locality of Ahmedabad has been lying quiet since the Babri Masjid demolition in 1993, until the azaan was heard again for the first time in March 2016.
The members of the Hindu community came together with an olive branch and helped restore the mosque to its original glory.

Since the Babri Masjid incident, Muslims had been avoiding the mosque, and re-opening it has certainly cemented ties between the two communities that was riddled with distrust earlier. In fact, a set of keys have been entrusted to Hindus – Poonam Parekh and Kaushik Rami, two flower sellers who light incense stick twice a day at the mosque.
