Welcome to SHEROES. Tell us about yourself and the venture so we can get to know you better!
After graduating in marketing, I started my “work life” at a London-based digital media agency, then returned to India and joined Unilever, managing the company’s special projects. Currently based in Udaipur, I have been working on merging my professional background with my spirited love for handcraft, my penchant for travel and my direct access to the artistic treasures of India’s most luxurious city. I want to create a space for interaction between design talents and discerning lifestyle customers – a qualitatively curated gallery with a worldwide viewership.

The greatest differentiator about my venture is that ‘The House of Things’ values the notion of individuality and pushes to cultivate an appreciation for finer tastes and facilitates access to a plethora of unique finds spanning varied categories and tastes. We ourselves were faced with the lack of access living in a city served by unorganized flea markets and the internet only.  We decided to explore this very limitation, and understand what in fact, isn't out there. 

We hope to transform the tradition of taste making in a virtual world. There is a gaping hole in the luxury furniture and decor market in India especially, and we found ourselves taken with the very idea of fulfilling such a promise. 

This is how my entrepreneurial journey started, we did a soft launch in August 2014 but were in the testing phase for months. I suppose we really started telling people about it in Feb, 2015. So far it has been a journey of discovery and learning. Fabulous because of the wonderful, talented people we get to meet and the wonderful clients we have serviced. 

In terms of financing, as of now, the venture is a proprietorship. As the business is growing, we are definitely looking to expand with help of funding. In the future, there are many things we're planning. We have lots of fantastic international design brands to be launched soon. Stay tuned to be a part of the journey!
