“My passion for education comes from a personal space. I had always been an average in studies and was stuck to the mainstream trying to prove a point. I didn't explore other career options. I feel I would have done better in school had my teachers and parents understood that I needed a different or an alternate way of learning. And that is something I am really passionate about- finding alternate ways of teaching. Edgemakers is that for me. I love dancing and want to use my love for it to come with alternate ways of teaching, because every child is unique and learns and understands in different ways.  Edgemakers now gives me the chance to explore my passion and calling.” exerts Rupali Katyal, 26 years, Learning and Development, Head, Edgemakers.

EdgeMakers is an educational start up and their learning system is implemented in leading schools across the US, Brazil, Colombia and India. A USA-headquartered company, it is world’s first comprehensive learning system and has a cutting-edge program designed by John Kao, former professor at the Harvard University. Also, a bestselling author and advisor to the governments of Germany, Singapore and Multi-National Corporations. This comprehensive learning system was developed to teach students “Innovation” and the related discipline of “Entrepreneurship”.

Ramit Bhatnagar, CEO, Edgemakers states, “Instead of relying on  web and mobile platforms to deliver the content to students, we decided to build a large pool of experts who would deliver our program to students in schools. With that, we want to make India the entrepreneurship hub of the world. We are working to empower students to become cutting edge “Innovators, Entrepreneurs and Leaders”. The number of jobs will not keep pace with the millions of students who are graduating every year. Students need to be empowered with tools & techniques that will ensure they become job creators and not job seekers.”

Edgemakers is especially building a strong pool of women educators. Indian women have always played a primarily role of being the first educator, teacher or mentor in their child’s life. That actually gives them this advantage, experience and the expertise to leverage this as professional aspiration in their life.

With that the
new millennial woman is more attuned to following her multiple dreams and career choices simultaneously. She is aware and wants to make more flexible choices at work which gives her the bandwidth to do more with her life and take on roles which adds value and is impactful.

Edgemakers, Classroom Expert, Mayukha Jamwal, 39 years, a mother and a homemaker says, I love the creativity involved in delivering the EdgeMakers program. The program builds in students tools & skills that will not only help them create more impact today but also empower them to become innovators of the future. With the flexible working arrangement at EdgeMakers, I am able to create impact in the lives of students without affecting my family commitments.”

Traditionally, women leave their full time job in the corporate sector post marriage/kids. On the other hand, the young Indian woman is now assertively standing up for her own self and fiercely sure about being economically independent. Edgemakers is that work platform for them, where they can use their wealth of knowledge & experience that can be shared with students while they live the life of their own choices.

They get significant training on the EdgeMakers pedagogy and learn cutting edge tools & techniques. In return Edgemakers gets the opportunity to leverage an un-utilized talent pool that does a wonderful job of delivering their learning system to students.

“It has been a wonderful experience delivering the EdgeMakers program at schools in Mumbai. EdgeMakers has given me the opportunity to work flexible hours yet follow my passion for building entrepreneurial skills in children,” tells Alisha Jain, 27 years from Mumbai
