The Quint reports live from the “DU Against Gundagardi” march outside Khalsa college.

Speaking about Gurmehar Kaur who was trolled for her posts, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju told CNN-News18, “Let the lady be in peace... Anyone who would flout the rules will have to face the law.”

IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad also commented: “She is a martyr's daughter and we respect her.” He also added that “she has the right to speak”.

Kawalpreet Kaur, one of the organisers of the march, said the participants will cover different colleges in north campus.

According to reports, the ABVP has now filed a complaint in Maurice Nagar Police Station against people who harassed Gurmehar Kaur on social media.

Delhi Police, on Tuesday, filed an FIR against unknown persons after the Delhi Commission for Women forwarded Gurmehar Kaur's complaint.

She has also been asked to submit the screenshots of posts threatening her.

Gurmehar Kaur’s acquaintance, Ram Subramanian, tweeted that Kaur plans to leave Delhi because she is “really scared”.

Kaur took to Twitter to say that she wanted to be left alone.

After facing flak for his remark on Kaur, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju took to Twitter on Tuesday to say that the row was a “nationalists vs far-leftists ideological battle”.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is scheduled to meet LG Anil Baijal at 2:30 pm today to demand action against the ABVP for issuing rape threats to DU student Gurmehar Kaur.

Members of the AISA, the Congress-backed NSUI and the JNU Teachers Association have called for a march to protest the violence at Ramjas College.

The protest, titled “DU Against Gundagardi” – which will kick off at 12:30 pm on 28 February – will see participants marching from SGTB Khalsa College to Ramjas College.

Meanwhile, Gurmehar Kaur took to Twitter to announce her decision to withdraw from the protest.

The “DU Against Gundagardi” march comes a day after the ABVP took out a ‘Tiranga march’ in DU’s North Campus on 27 February.

BJP leader Shaina NC urged that the issue be resolved in a “peaceful and constructive manner”.

Teachers and student of the Lady Sri Ram college (LSR) have come out in support of DU student Gurmehar Kaur, slamming those who have threatened her with rape. While some are calling the protest “Fight Back, DU”, few others have named it “DU Against Rape Threats”.

Faculty members and students of LSR have openly condemned the rape threats on social media platforms.

Kaur, 20, found herself at the receiving end of vicious online trolling after she launched a campaign in protest of the violence perpetrated by ABVP supporters.

Violence erupted at Ramjas College last week when ABVP supporters objected to a seminar at the campus where JNU students Umar Khalid and Shehla Rashid were invited to speak.
