My family hails from Kashmir, I was born and brought up in Delhi. I pursued my medical studies from Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi.
How did the idea of your venture Nutri Health come about?
I was working as a Junior Doctor in Cardiology when I realised that most of the patients who came to the ICU had no clue about the root cause of their heart problem and even after the treatment at the hospital they were likely to relapse into unhealthy eating.
So I realised that setting up a professional and scientific preventive healthcare was an imperative for the medical profession.
What is the core product or service offering of your venture?
1. Support / Counselling and guidance on following the Health Plan
2. Creating Personalised Nutrition – Re: balance plans based on the Ayurvedic Prakriti (Nutrigenetics)
What are the challenges you face in this field of work?
Day to day challenges include - effective training and creating a professional task force.
External challenges include - deep rooted corruption and lackadaisical and lethargic attitude and environment of the local bodies.
(We are one of the lowest ranking countries in the world on the parameter of “ease of doing business”.)
What future plans do you have professionally for yourself and the company?
It’s our vision to help people actualise their highest potential of wellbeing, effectively and with sensitiveness. We maintain integrity and excellence in all our dealings and take complete ownership of our organization and its products and services. We want to work our way towards becoming one of the world’s most regarded wellness brands.
What message would you give aspiring medical students of today?
It’s nice to have some idea about other traditional systems of medicine also like Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, etc. Do not discard any ancient system of knowledge without actually reading / studying it.
