Crowd Fund for Techie Killed in Kansas Raises Over $400K in a Day
Yet another shooting in the United States has left a family destroyed and minority communities in a state of panic.
Srinivas Kuchibhotla, an engineer from Hyderabad, was shot dead by an American. The man reportedly screamed “get out of my country”, before opening fire.
Kuchibhotla was all of 32 and is survived by his wife and parents in Hyderabad, who are too devastated to speak.

Kavipriya Muthuramalingam, a close friend of Kuchibhotla’s, has set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to help Kuchibhotla’s wife, Sunayana, and his family with the expenses for the funeral and to carry his mortal remains back to India.

The crowd funding campaign has seen contributions from over 13,000 people in just a day and has been able to put together $4,70,373 – far beyond its initial aim of $1,50,000.
The American man accused of the shooting, 51-year-old Adam Purinton, was arrested from a bar in Missouri. He reportedly told the bartender that he had just killed two ‘Middle Eastern’ people.
Kuchibhotla’s friend and colleague, Alok Madasani, was also shot at by Purinton. While he survived, no rationale in the world can justify the loss of his friend.
