Begin before you feel Ready because "Anything can Happen"!
When you write something off and settle for something that you’re less excited about, (but you know that you can do it 100%), you’re limiting yourself from potentially amazing opportunities! Here are two reasons why we tend to do this:
- We don’t feel fully qualified and ready to take up the opportunity.
- We fear being rejected or losing at the task.
We make excuses to ourselves before even trying to attempt at a potentially exciting prospect. We fall behind and then watch others win at a race that we were actually prepared for but chickened out at the very thought of attempting.
Do you think Mahatma Gandhi, Steve Jobs or Richard Branson waited for a sign to tell them to take the lead? This is why we call them leaders.
Keep in mind that,
The “chosen ones” choose themselves.
Do you know the habits of successful people? Successful people start before they feel ready. If you’re working on something important, then you’ll never feel ready. A side effect of doing challenging work is that you’re pulled by excitement and pushed by confusion at the same time.
Let’s face it; you’ll have to start at some point. You’ll have to give yourself that kick to get your wheels in motion. Remember: You’ll never grow unless you get uncomfortable and try something you’re not 100% prepared for.
You’re bound to feel uncertain, unaware, and unqualified. But let me guarantee you of this: what you have right now is enough. You can plan, delay, and alter all you want, but trust me, what you have now is enough to start. It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to start a business, lose weight, write a book, or achieve any number of goals… who you are, where you’re at, what you have, and what you know right now is good enough to get you going.
We all start in the same place with no money, resources, contacts and experience what so ever. The difference is that the champions choose to start anyway. It doesn’t matter where you are in the world and it doesn’t matter what you’re working on, I hope you’ll start before you feel ready and experience the feeling that “Anything can happen”.
