Anupama Saves Kerala From Bad Foods
TV Anupama have been making news for her brave measures to crack down the adulterated food racket in Kerala. A scholar who scored 4th in All India Rank in UPSC Examination, earlier ranked 13th in SSLC examination from Vijayamtha Convent high School in Ponnani. In the year 2002 she scored 3rd rank in higher secondary examination from St. Clair’s higher secondary school, Thrissur and 92% marks in her BE honors from BITS , Goa Campus.
.
She spearheaded the ‘Grow Your Own Food’ mission, as her team had seized 6,000 samples of adulterated food from various farms in a year. In just 15 months, 750 cases against defaulters were registered. According to the reports the fruits and vegetables contained about 300 percent more pesticide residues than the permissible limit!
Humble as she is, the entire limelight never interested her. She rather said,“I haven’t been comfortable with the kind of attention all this brought. I don’t use my personal FB page much. No Twitter and no verified official page. But at some point, you have to open up. It is mandatory that we put all orders on public platform. Whenever some adulteration comes we put on the website. I didn’t expect this kind of response. The worst situation is when your privacy is encroached. Family was dragged into it. Luckily they were very supportive. Most of the staff were too, and there was public support,” to Deccan Chronicle.
