This morning, I and my sister were having a wonderful conversation on what women in our country shall actually fight for? Do women lack freedom? Lack acceptance? Lack security? Or are flooded with many conditions and opinions?
Knowing what a woman wants to stand for, we preferably talked about what she might be standing on. I am not here with words to have people recollect “How wonderful a woman in whole is” for is it not indirectly victimizing an already “on its own” beautiful specie clan? I believe, no man or woman needs certain grounds to prove who the better human is made out to be. Whereas, glorification of some profiles in the past has in fact led to this disparity in respect for individuals in particular.
“I am ABC. I like to wrestle. I am XYZ. I like to cook.” Who decided the genders of these and who asked us to apply them to every human of coming generations? You can be a woman and be in the ring or you can be a man and be in the kitchen. Why are we losing out on our personality to live by societal gender norms?
We are different personalities with different traits and we deserve different goals to be compared on. Individualism is in a way lost in the fight for feminism. Moreover, different ideas to support the latter are only worsening the scenario. When women are unfairly being treated upon, men have been unfairly ruled out from certain areas as well. It is in a way a talk about acceptance of an Individual first irrespective of the gender.
This entire fiasco has actually turned out to be an intellectual representation of bullying. From the long lost era, women have been considered as weak muscled personas and the weaker in strength has always been expected to be in trouble. With parallelism to the remorseless food cycle, we know the deer(weaker) is always eaten by the lion(stronger).
Indian women with deer tags glued to them from the time they come out in the world of lions, have an unfair struggle set up already. They are fed with negatives and weaknesses before they are led to walk on. They are refrained from exploring individual strengths because of gender weaknesses. Character defamation being one of the major attack on women. We fight bullying to let others know that non acceptance of any individual is unfair, but being told to fight certain rule set because I am a woman and apparently weak, is having me accept my gender as a weakness.
In the role play of being fair, we are losing on to understanding that women were never the one, we or our ancestral decided them to be. Different individuals at the end, let women cherish their own flaws instead of being taught about because of gender.
