Whenever I look back at my professional journey, it always brings a smile to my face and tears to my eyes. My journey was never easy and definitely not a cakewalk, it was full of ups and downs, but it has made me who I am today.
Hailing from a Delhi-based business family, I have seen the positive and the negative side of owning a business since childhood. The idea of being an entrepreneur and implementing something on my own was interesting, but at the same time very challenging for me. Though my husband has been my constant inspiration, and my family who make sure we don't skip our meals on time due to our busy schedule.
I consider myself lucky to have Atul as my husband who not just believes in my dreams but also becomes my support system and partner-in-crime.
At the age of 27, when one makes their career choices and struggles for it, I was already running my own company. I have become the proud owner of V Spark Communications.
I started my career at a very young age. Initially, I was handling ‘Celebrity PR’ and I was fortunate enough that because of this beat, I got an opportunity to work with big brands at a very young age. I have worked with PVR Cinemas, Spice Cinemas, Warner Bros brands and coordinated with Anupam Kher, Emraan Hashmi, Madhur Bhandarkar like big celebrities.
Further, to brush up my career, I also worked with various other companies where I got a chance to show my PR and communication skills. I made my way through V spark with a view that nothing is impossible.
Starting a venture was the toughest task of my life. We used to start our day at 06:00 AM and stayed awake until midnight. There were no fixed salaries, no proper office timings, and no personal life. And because of our dedication, passion and hard work, our company was growing and heading in the right direction.
Currently, at V Spark, I’m heading the Public Relations team, Hiring, and management along with my husband Atul Pratap Singh, who co-founded V Spark Communications with me.
Started with just 4 to 5 people, our company now works with 25 employees who has got the same zeal in their respective field. So far, I have worked with over 200 Indian as well as global brands like Currency Kart, Food Panda, Sealy Mattresses, Senco Golds & Diamonds, etc. The organization has witnessed tremendous growth in the last few years; credit goes to our work ethics and team. In recent years, we have worked with numerous big brands like Craftsvilla, Health Care at Home, Spice Digital and Hotel the Royal Plaza to name a few.
To be honest, I was never good in studies. I was an average student and a naughty one that too. My teachers, friends, and relatives always used to complain about my talkative quality. But my parents never thought of it as a problem. I like communicating, socializing and networking with people since my childhood. I believe that the more you share your knowledge, the more you gain. Hence, I have converted my best assets into my career by choosing the communication field. I also believe that people should listen to others, but not necessarily have to follow the things as per society. Just believe in yourself, one day everything will turn into a right direction.
At V Spark, we often do a brainstorming session that brings employees together into a creative process. We discuss and exchange our knowledge which enhances our understanding and improves our bonding in the long run. Our team plays a key role in bringing revolutionary change in the old-school concept of PR and branding.
My much-loved leisure pursuit is to communicate which will always remain same, but apart from a communication specialist, I also love traveling, exploring different kinds of places, and enjoy cooking diverse cuisines.
In a nutshell, I too faced many challenges on my entrepreneurial journey like other women entrepreneurs. But I am blessed to have a supportive family, husband and of course my V Spark, Team.
Lastly, I would like to say to millions of women out there that just be a courageous and determined person to witness the Spark in you. It will take time and with time, everything will fall into place.
