- The Supreme Court, on Monday, rejected a plea by SP leader Gayatri Prajapati, seeking a stay on his arrest order, in connection with a gang rape and sexual harassment case. He has also been instructed to approach the concerned court.
- The apex court said its order directing UP Police to lodge FIR against Prajapati is being given a “political colour” and that is “unfortunate”.
- Prajapati, who is a cabinet minister in UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's government, and six others were accused of gang-raping a woman and trying to molest her daughter.
