Safetipin app is helpful, as it identifies safe zones in a city with the help of crowd-sourced audits. The USP of the app lies in the updates shared by the user community, establishing a peer connect among its users. Safetipin is available in Hindi, Bahasa and Spanish, besides English.

Raksha
Even if the Raksha App is switched off and isn't running, pressing the volume key for just three seconds alerts the specific contacts you have chosen beforehand. Your location is sent to them on a map which sends them your exact whereabouts.
Conceptualised by BJP spokesperson, Meenakshi Lekhi, the idea was to put into use everyday technology to enhance the safety and security of women.

Just shake your phone or press power button 4 times to send SOS text message with location and/or call to contacts saved by you. As simple as that.
