#Oscars2017: From Priyanka’s Gorgeous Red-Carpet Look To The ‘Steve Harvey’ Moment

Let’s just get this out of our way. Priyanka has owned the red carpet at the Oscars. She looked dazzling in a white risque, shimmery, fitted gown

Needless to say she has aced the red carpet game both at the home turf and at the Oscars. The Oscars 2017 was applauded after last year’s “white wash.” Slumdog Millionaire wonder boy, Dev Patel’s Lion scored nominations in the categories of best picture, best supporting actor (Dev Patel) /actress (Nicole Kidman), original music score, adapted screenplay, and cinematography. There are many more nominations like that.

Moonlight, La La Land, Fences, Hacksaw Ridge, Manchester By The Sea, Hidden Figures, Arrival, Hell Or High Water were the main attraction of the night, nominated in the category of the best picture. But the awards hold more importance in the backdrop of Trump’s presidency in US.

The big winners of the night are, Mahershala Ali--the first Muslim actor to win an Oscar for (Moonlight) in the best supporting actor category, also Viola Davis (Fences) won the best supporting actress award. The best documentary short film, went to The White Helmets; best cinematography, best score and best song (City of stars) and the best director , awards went to La La Land.

Ryan Gosling’s fans were in for a disappointment as Casey Affleck bagged the award in the best actor category for his stupendous role in Manchester By The Sea. Although, Emma Stone took home the golden man in the best actress category for her impeccable performance in the musical, La La Land.

But wait a minute, what’s the Oscars without any ‘moment’ to rake up the excitement. Well, this year it is all about the ‘Steve Harvey Moment!

After wrongly naming La La Land as the best picture of the year 2016, actor Warren Beatty was left gaffing. Host Jimmy Kimmel spiced up things by relating it to the infamous Steve Harvey incident, in 2015 when Steve accidentally read the name of a wrong miss universe.

The cast and crew of Moonlight for sure was swept off of its feet after realising that they are the big winners of the night. It was one hilarious moment and something which will be trending a lot. Take a look at the goof up, everybody is talking about:

This year’s winners at the Oscars are especially more relevant, owing to the current political scenario in the US.

Oscar winner Jodie Foster, lead her colleagues in a rally against Donald Trump, voicing their concern over the rising xenophobia and the travel ban.

The rally came amid reports that a 21-year-old Syrian cinematographer who worked on an Oscar-nominated film had been denied entry to the United States. Apparently, Khateeb risked his life working on The White Helmets, a harrowing film about the Syrian civil war nominated for the best documentary (short film) Oscar.

Speaking at a rally outside the Beverly Hills headquarters of United Talent Agency (UTA), which cancelled its Oscars party to stage the protest, she said: "I'm not somebody who feels very comfortable using my public face for activism. This year is a very different year and it's time to show up. It's the singular time in history. It's time to engage.”
