One suspected Islamic State (ISIS) militant was gunned down after a 12-hour long encounter on the outskirts of Lucknow, early on 8 March.
Police suspect that the slain terrorist, identified as Saifullah, was involved in the blast in the blast on the passenger train in Madhya Pradesh on 7 March.
According to ANI, security forces recovered eight pistols and 650 rounds of ammunition from the house in which the suspect was holed up.
Initial reports indicated the presence of three people in the area. Investigators confirmed that one suspect had been gunned down. High-tech tube cameras and other devices were used for the encounter.
Police have arrested six other suspects from Uttar Pradesh and MP in connection with Tuesday’s explosion on board a Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train. Three others are said to be on the radar of the intelligence officers.
