Meet the SHEROES - Neha Gupta

If you have a dream, it’s time to get up and chase it...

In the old days, young children liked to read and often lost themselves in the fantasies books offered. As the years progressed, habits changed and many parents today notice that their children do not appreicate the value of books or the written word much anymore.

Today we share the story of Neha Gupta who founded Buzzing Books, an online book rental service. As she says, her endeavour is not to just give books to children but to inculcate the interest of reading, let's see what she has to say to us here.

How did the Idea / inspiration to start Buzzing Books come about?

The idea of starting a library had taken seed long back, when I was growing up and experienced a dearth of libraries. However, it is only when my daughter, Ishita started reading that I thought it's time to open one if there's none!!

What do you aim to achieve with your venture Buzzing Books?

At BuzzingBooks, my dedicated initiative is to encourage the concept of reading among children; guide them to see the magic in words that they can relish throughout life. My aim is not to give just books to children but to give Experiences, Magic, Imagination, Stories, Adventures, Dreams ...all packed into a small bundle of pages!

As a woman entrepreneur, what are the top 3 things that help you succeed in your business?

The PASSION for my work is the driving force.

PRESEVERANCE throughout the entrepreneurial journey is another crucial factor that helped me during difficult times.

PEOPLE (read Family) that have believed in me and my vision.

What are the biggest challenges you face in this industry?

The main challenge that we face is to create awareness about the importance of reading books and creating a vibrant “reading culture” in society.

Let me take this platform to tell your readers that cultivating a reading habit since childhood can go a long way in evolving the person academically, culturally, mentally and emotionally. Book is both like a mirror (reflecting one’s own experiences) and also a window (giving a glimpse into an entirely a new world).

What advice would you give young aspiring Sheroes out there?

If you have a dream, it’s time to get up and chase it. The sooner you start, the better it is. And believe me, there is no substitute, absolutely no substitute for hard work! Have long term goals, and the grit and determination to achieve them.
