Meenakshi Sharma loves the process of creation and leading. This inspired her to set-up Resurge Management Consultants in 2006. She shares her thoughts on HR as a field and what her plans are going forward.
Tell us a little about yourself
I am a trained journalist from IIMC as also an MBA in HR with a love for literature and Arts.
My childhood has been full of travel and new experiences and these very diverse experiences have translated into my love for versatility and an appetite for risk taking which made me suitable for entrepreneurship.
How did the idea of Resurge Management Consultants come about?
From 2004 I have been toying with the idea of entrepreneurship as I love the process of creation and leading. In June 2006 Resurge was founded in Goa as a management consulting company with a range of services from recruitment to training to communication. By 2009 we expanded to Gurgaon and now have offices in both locations.
What are the USP's / Service offerings at Resurge?
HR and Communication are the mainstays. We do recruitment, training and content development. Since 2012 we are involved in Literary and Art events under the brand GLIterARTi which has become a business model as well as we tie up with publishers and organize literary festivals.
Since starting up, what do you feel the key challenge areas in this line of work are?
Adapting to changing business needs, people retention and highest levels of client service is a challenge to us and others. I find we need to constantly innovate and give better services.
Which cities do you cover at the moment and what are your expansion plans for the future? Do you plan on expanding your product / service offering?
We are located in Goa and cover Mumbai and Pune from the Goa office while our Delhi Gurgaon operations focus on the NCR region. Expansion in service is a continuous effort and we are innovating with better offerings like HR Consulting, Event conceptualization, Training capsules which “train the trainer” etc. We are now venturing into new areas in the Education industry and are looking to better our services
What is an average work-day at Resurge like?
No two days are the same in an HR Company and because we do so many different things like content management, Training and Development and diverse industry hiring’s, every day is action packed and exciting.

If you have a skill or talent and a desire to make it a business proposition, have faith and 'Don’t give up'. It is very hard to keep your faith in trying times, but hard work and talent does pay - Convincing the right people to buy your product is a challenge which can be surmounted if you believe in yourself and others see your earnestness!
