Life Lessons For An Entrepreneur From CrossFit

CrossFit is a fitness training program that encourages people of all shapes and sizes to focus on endurance and strength training. CrossFit trains you to concentrate on your flexibility, agility, strength, balance and stamina. Every CrossFit session is broken into three parts, a dynamic warmup, WOD (workout of the day)/strength training and cool off stretching

CrossFit may not be for all but if it works for you then it benefits you at a much deeper level, you are much more aware and gradually develop a realistic attitude towards your body’s strengths and weaknesses. It is a healthy way of pushing your physical limits and mental toughness, one can easily carry forward these learnings to our daily lives and work ethics.

First rule of Cross Fit, is to break the routine, each workout day (WOD) is planned differently. This helps your body’s endurance and agility. If you apply the same principle to your work and try to introduce new activities to your monotonous schedule it will help you get less complacent and bored. If you do not enjoy what you do it leads to a burnout and a complete loss of interest. A healthy work environment should encourage new challenges, you can start with something small like a networking group that plan weekly hobby classes.

When you create something that enriches your soul, never evaluate it with the amount of money you make, because that comparison will kill charm of your creativity. Art is priceless and unexplainable, similarly if you are sweating out with the single agenda of reducing weight you will end up missing out on the way your body displays strength and commitment during CrossFit.

Train your mind, it has the ability to sort every obstacle that pushes you towards negativity. Anyone who enters the box (gym) for the first time is extremely intimidated by the environment, it seems like a really tough task but as you start focusing on your form and strength your apprehension is replaced by the excitement of completing your daily WOD. The decision to quit my safe cubicle and start on my own was one of the toughest professional choice, I had to realign my work goals  and adjust  to a completely new mindset. An entrepreneur is always creating opportunities because that is the only way you will survive in a new business environment, define your goals clearly and focus your resources towards a positive result.

A good Cross Fit session is incomplete without camaraderie amongst its group members. It is absolutely remarkable how everyone encourages and motivates each other to perform better, lift heavier and stay fitter. A healthy work environment requires people who believe in you to complete the last mile with pride. I would have never survived if I did not have a support system that pushed me on a tough day. Everyone has weak moments but the glory lies beyond your comfort zone, and when you see someone calling out your name on the finish line your strength multiplies.

I have personally never put myself through anything that requires such high vigour and athletic strength but to raise the bar you have to do something that scares you. Every workout you pick for yourself depends on your personal wavelength, make sure it liberates your soul because fitness is more of a holistic wellbeing. Whatever you to pick to engage in, do it with all your heart and zest.
