I learnt to believe

We want to conquer the world but in order to do that we have to conquer ourselves first. Have you ever wondered why, sometimes you meet someone who you just know is not right for the job, even though he/ she is zealous for it. It happens and for a very long time, I know I was that person, not because I was lying or doing something wrong but because I did not have the conviction and belief that I could do it.

Let’s see, I was making money, hiring, expanding and talking like a pro but inside I was scared and somewhere deep inside, I knew something very soon is going to fall. One of the biggest mistake, you could ever make in life is doubting yourself. So what if you are a woman! Just imagine, you are so amazing that handling house, a job, education, kids and society is so easy for you. You are a pro and nobody can take the worth out of you, unless you let them. In my case, my doubts made me miserable. I could see my employees were not as warm towards me as they should, my mentor gave me few years and told me “have fun, you are going to close shops soon anyways”. My closest friend even without actually visiting my office told me, ‘I don’t respect what you do’. All this when in books, I could have been called a successful person professionally.

I am not here to give a sermon or guidance on how you should run your business or even a job but to share the struggle which I went through and I know many of us must have encountered at some point in life. You see we women have it little difficult as compare to guys, we all are trying to break away from the stereotype mould which says you are a good house maker and profession is something which should take a back seat when needed. For many of us, it is our stubbornness which makes it difficult to say out loud that “yes” I am lost and I need help.  I have realised the day you accept the lost part and start finding the way home, the same day you start believing in yourself.  And the day you do, you are made for life. Nothing and nobody will be in a position to tell you, that you have taken a wrong turn in life. Strangely, you start oozing a sense of purpose and people even without you uttering a word are ready to offer you what you need. So if you  find yourselves asking this question,” What’s wrong with me, why am I not being successful professionally”, you know the fault is not in you but in you not believing that you can be the best.  It’s difficult to start this process but I know we all are strong and a look in the mirror or a pen and a paper to jot down why we are awesome and that everything is possible, is the first step.

Believe in magic and magic is when you LOOK for unexpected even if it is in you.
